Grim Shady

Bio: I am a retired critical care flight paramedic studying Criminology and Forensic Science. I love reading books and, of course skating. The name “Grim Shady” originated from Eminem’s song “Slim Shady”…just sounded awesome! I have three awesome children and one granddaughter.

Origin: I am originally from Texas but moved to Wilmington 13 years ago which is were I began my roller derby career.

Derby History: I began skating with Cape Fear Roller Derby in 2014. This is the only league I have scraped elbows with and have loved every minute of it.

Sport History: When I was in junior high I played basketball and only skated in the driveway for fun. I found roller derby on Facebook when I saw pictures of one of my high school buddies playing for a team out of Colorado. The next week I looked up local roller derby teams and attended tryouts.

Likes: Pickles, skating, reading, and involving myself in art projects that sometimes take over my office. I also like spending time with my family.

Dislikes: Entitled, lazy people…gets under my skin. I also do not like anything watermelon or peach flavored.
